Digitized RisographLi June, Ivy, TiffanyPrinted matter and screen-based pieces are surfaces and perceptions of two kinds. We are intrigued by this difference bringing them together to let the two converse and collaborate: as we do, three designers with different backgrounds and passions. With an interactive browser page, we visually translate tangible materials into digitized prints. Risograph is just a warm-up, with the textural colors of Risograph. It invites everyone to open up their imagination with many more possibilities.Printed matter and screen-based pieces are surfaces and perceptions of two kinds. DisorientLily, AshleyIn creating this experience, we attempted to embody the phenomenon of disorientation. While exploring this concept in the digital world, we found it quite easy to emulate confusion through hyperstimulation. As the viewer advances through the compositions, the components intensify and create a lost sense of one’s sense of direction. We were extremely experimental in our use of materials and tried to use as many platforms as we could to create our imagery. Experience the feeling of disorientation with us.In creating this experience, we attempted to embody the phenomenon of disorientation. GlitchYining, Natcha, ChaereeWe begin to see glitches in the form of sudden interruptions in life, malfunctions in systems beyond just computer errors. Things such as human error begin to appear, or disruption caused by natural disasters that are unpreventable. This project is an investigation into the similarities between the artificial and the natural, and the sequential process in which both may overlap. We begin to see glitches in the form of sudden interruptions in life, malfunctions in systems beyond just computer errors. Kindergarten Juice BoxesKayla, Jodi, RyanChildhood nostalgia drips with sweet memories of bright colors and small indulgences. We symbolically contain them in Kindergarten Juice Boxes that stain this fabric of time. This process of freeform image-making extends this transience into something we can carry into the present, “in a scarf quilted with memories of pink sunsets and kindergarten juice boxes.”Childhood nostalgia drips with sweet memories of bright colors and small indulgences. MeditativePatricia, RachelWondering is personal, free, and meditative. Every photograph is a flashback of what we’ve seen. They serve as entrances to a bigger experience that lies behind our sometimes dormant memory. The website layout mimics a piece of textile that is being sewn together with colors from our photographs.
